In the largest wine region in the Canary Islands of Spain, soil is largely volcanic in origin and the climate is hot maritime during the growing season, although the local Alicios (trade) winds bring in moisture from the sea. By contrast, the winters can be very cold. These features make Ycoden-Daute-Isora an interesting wine-growing area with site-specific qualities. Winemaker Borja Perez has great respect for indigenous varieties, and Igneos wines feature intense aromatics, Canary mineral and saline qualities. Less than 500 cases produced!
