From winemaker Vincezo Di Meo in Abruzzo, this blend of indigenous white grapes Trebbiano, Malvasia Di Candia, Passerina, and Fiano is hand-harvested, given 2 days of skin contact fermentation, followed by 12 months in stainless steel. The winemaker believes in 'purity', and he never clarifies, filters, or uses any So2, and always allows for spontaneous fermentation. The resulting aromatic, savory, cloudy juice appeals to fans of 'super-natural' wines, and befuddles the traditional wine connoisseur. Ask for a taste if you come by the bottle shop this week!
